A Truckload of Mulch From Andy Kiser: "When I started at my new school a veteran teacher told me, 'If they need someone and you can do it, make yourself available. It will reap dividends down the road.' I've since tried to put that advice into practice. One day a massive truckload of mulch was delivered and the secretary put out the call for all able bodies to help spread it. I was the only teacher to show up and for my efforts I was given two truckloads of mulch delivered to my house. Sometimes it does pay to be flexible."
